The objectives of the 2030 agenda require a change of pace for managing the transformation processes of the built environment. This evolution can be led, not only by specific skills (knowledge reform) in topics of research, teaching and training but also by a logical and strategic review, to find where these skills intersect. In light of this, the Istea 2024 Conference, following the line already traced in the previous editions of Catania (2023) and Turin (2022), proposes a comparison between researchers in the ICAR/11 SSD sector on the topic of digital and green skills, and of the related synergies necessary to overcome the challenge of the twin transition. In a context in which inter- and trans-disciplinary approaches are increasingly strategic. The objective of the Conference is also to reflect critically on what are the new dynamics with which our research fields intertwine with others that are traditionally very distant (IT, chemical, electrical, etc.) and with the interventions to transform the built environment on which communication and integration are today of mandatory importance.
