Scientific Disciplinary Area Declaratory:
ICAR 11 PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
The scientific-disciplinary content pertains to theories, methodologies and techniques for processes management related to construction projects, transformation and restoration of the existing ones and studies of the built environment from the single building towards urban and territorial scale.
The general objectives oriented toward sustainability, as well as quality and safety throughout the life cycle of structures, are pursued through a methodological approach focused on engineering modeling and the integration of digital methods and technologies for the control of complex systems while also taking into account procedural, socioeconomic and environmental issues.
Areas of study and research include product and process innovation for the improvement of economic, social and environmental sustainability in the construction sector; informational and computational modeling as well as theories, methods and technologies for the coordination and control of the design, construction, transformation and maintenance of works; and digital systems and technologies for the enhancement, preservation and management of the built environment.
